Episode Context

Sitting at episode 12 of 112, this installment marks the climactic stretch of the Genkai Tournament arc, following several rounds of escalating battles that tested Yusuke and Kuwabara's limits. It serves as the critical pivot point between the semi-finals and the tournament's final confrontation, transforming what seemed like a straightforward fighting competition into something with far higher supernatural stakes. The groundwork laid here directly fuels the showdown and character developments that close out this early-series arc.
