Episode Context

This is the conclusion of Yugi's first real Duelist Kingdom opponent, picking up directly from 'Into the Hornet's Nest' where the duel with Weevil began. It's only episode 5 of 224, so it functions as an early proving ground, establishing the tournament's rules, Yugi's resourcefulness, and the caliber of rivals he'll face going forward. The outcome here sets the momentum for the increasingly difficult duels that define the Duelist Kingdom arc.
