Episode Context

Episode 117 sits deep in the anime-original Virtual World arc, directly following the Kaiba brothers' emotional confrontation in 'Brothers in Arms. Part 3,' with Yugi now stepping forward as the primary duelist against Noah. This two-parter marks the arc's climactic stretch, transitioning focus from Kaiba's personal demons back to Yugi's leadership. It sets the stage for 'Noah's Final Threat. Part 2,' where this duel reaches its decisive conclusion before the series pivots back toward canon material.
