YU-GI-OH! CARD GAME: THE CHRONICLES HAS NO VOTE THIS WEEK
Synopsis
Hidden within the artwork of every Yu-Gi-Oh card is a story most players never think about. This ONA takes those stories and actually animates them. The first arc follows Raye, a young pilot strapped into the Sky Striker system, basically a high-tech weapon suit, fighting in a futuristic war she didn't really choose. Early on she runs into Roze, an enemy pilot using similar tech, and what starts as straightforward mecha combat quickly gets more personal. Raye picks up on something off about Roze, like she's not entirely fighting of her own will, and that tension between them gives the action some real emotional weight. It's not just "cool fights": there's identity stuff, questions about autonomy, and the kind of quiet character moments you don't always expect from something tied to a card game. KONAMI's own animation studio handles production, and it looks genuinely good. Episodes drop monthly, each one expanding on different card lore, so the format keeps things fresh without dragging. If you liked the worldbuilding side of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's or the way Cardfight!! Vanguard ties its card mythology into actual narrative, this scratches a similar itch but with a more mature, action-packed tone. You don't need to play the card game to get into it, but the stories stand on their own.

final part of magistus is awesome
That Thunder Force spell looked incredible when it just deleted the giant in the forest. You can really tell the animation quality is top tier when they show the mages using actual card effects like that
Seeing Endymion struggle with those nightmares made me feel so bad for him. I think Artemis is the only reason he can even keep going and her support is the only thing keeping him together
That opening with the giant eye and the flashback to Aleister was actually terrifying. The way they showed his trauma before he woke up really set the tone and made the nightmare feel real
Seeing the city of Endymion actually functioning with people using magic for their gardens was a really cool detail and it makes the threat of Zoroa feel way more personal
Artemis pulling out a gavel to judge Endymion was the cutest thing ever and it was such a funny break from all the doom and gloom about Zoroa
I love seeing the Magistus lore finally get animated like this but these episodes are way too short and they skip so much from the manga and I really wish we got a full series because watching Endymion put on that black armor at the end gave me chills and I just want to see him actually fight Zoroa now instead of waiting another month
The animation during that Thunder Force scene was incredible and seeing Endymion just vaporize that giant made him look so powerful
I still can't get over seeing Aleister in that flashback and the way he looked so beat up really hurt because I just want my boy to be happy for once
I really did not expect Artemis to be so bubbly but it works perfectly against Endymion being all gloomy and serious. That courtroom bit where she found him guilty of being a big softie was adorable, though the ending with the souvenir promise is giving me a bad feeling about the fight against Zoroa in the next episode
Artemis turning the balcony into a courtroom was hilarious and she called him out for being a stubborn idiot in the best way possible. She really is the only person who can talk to him like that
Endymion looked so tired in the opening and seeing him wake up from a nightmare about Aleister broke me. I really felt for him when he admitted he sealed his friend away with his own hands
Endymion using Thunder Force to vaporize that ogre was such a cool way to show his power level before he heads off to face a god. The scale of the magical city looks incredible and seeing magic used for gardening was cool
