You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Eiyuu has two childhood friends, Shio and Akari, and they've both gotten way too attractive for his sanity. He's doing everything he can to keep his feelings buried because, well, the second they find out, the friendship is either leveling up or imploding. The catch is that both girls are hiding something too, and nobody's honest enough to just say what they're feeling. Classic. This is a 12-episode TV series from Tezuka Productions, the studio behind The Quintessential Quintuplets, so they know their way around a harem setup. Based on a web manga, the show leans into that slow-burn dynamic where every almost-confession and misread signal keeps you hovering between secondhand embarrassment and genuine investment. The comedy lands because it's rooted in how awkward it actually is when your oldest friends suddenly become people you can't stop thinking about. What sets it apart from the usual love triangle formula is that the tension runs in every direction. It's not just Eiyuu pining; Shio and Akari each have their own secrets and motivations, so the triangle feels balanced instead of one-sided. The vibe is lighthearted and youthful, but there's enough romantic friction to keep things moving forward rather than spinning in circles. If you liked the childhood friend dynamics in Oreshura or the rom-com energy of Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie, this one fits right in that lane. It's comfortable without being boring, and the character writing gives it more texture than the premise might suggest.

This episode really is fantastic. At first I thought this anime is mid, and boring, but as I progressed through this episode, it became more and more wholesome and fun to watch. Even the fan service was to the point. I really enjoyed this episode .
Maybe the best option is just… not choosing anyone at all LMAOO 😭🤣
Damn, if I were Eiyuu, I’d already be losing my mind trying to choose which girl to pick
SHIO SUDDENLY KISSED EIYUU JUST BECAUSE SHE SAW HARU ACCIDENTALLY KISS HIM TOO?!?! 😭💥 this romance is spiraling outta control fr-
ANOTHER new girl showed up again omg .this anime really said “collect all heroines” huh
Where’s Runa in this episode 😭 girl really disappeared right when the hanabi drama started
If I were Akari or Shio, there’s no way I’d wanna watch fireworks as a third wheel like that
HAHHH AKARI CONFESSED TOO?!?!?! 😭💥 bro this romcom just turned into full chaos mode-
WAIT WHAT?? Shio actually confessed to Eiyuu!!!? my shipper heart is panicking rn-
And now there’s another new girl showing up too… apparently she’s Eiyuu’s childhood friend 😭the love chaos just keeps growing fr
Eiyuu’s getting even more confused with how Shio suddenly acts like she’s lowkey confessing to him
Lowkey not sure they’d stay the same if one of them confessed their feelings… the friendship vibe would definitely get messy for a while
Eyy now I’m confused who to ship Eiyuu with… Shio or Akari 😭
I really liked that the main character decided to embrace his horniness for his childhood friends, that's small character development but that is still character development. Gross Eiyu was funny. Nothing bad to say about the episode. Akari is just too damn cute as always.
Eiyu's endless rom-com angst was peak boring, the true villains here were the writers for dragging this out with no resolution. what a snooze fest 🙄
All that waiting for this ending? At least we got *something* after the last season's hiatus, but fam, this rom-com just straight up didn't deliver, feels like we're still on hiatus tbh 😔
Eiyu's indecisiveness was next level awful, this anime adaptation fumbled every possible route, leaving no true ending like a real visual novel. 🤢
Ugh, another one of these 'rom-coms' with its plasticky digital coloring and clean lines, where the main character is too weak to choose? *Cowboy Bebop* actually showed real relationship drama, not this censored, moe-blob garbage. Eww.
Smh, student refused to learn any wisdom this ep, totally missed the growth arc 😔 big L for character development, hard pass.
Eiyu's indecision is a bigger system failure than a damaged Zaku, this rom-com is a total waste of processing power, needed a true Gundam pilot to just end it already. 😬
