sora staring out the window while haru is out with friends is heartrending because she looks so lonely and disconnected from everything

Akira getting all embarrassed was pretty funny and she really reminds me of the candy store girl from that other series about the countryside

I feel so bad for Sora whenever she is just watching Haru leave for school through the window. It makes the gap between her world and his feel so huge and sad. Also Akira is such a weird addition to the group but I like her energy. The sister reveal with Kazuha was a nice touch that makes them both feel like real people.

Haru's friend really does not feel like a good wingman and he might just be getting in the way while the girls are out there fighting for attention

Everything with Akira felt a bit rushed and it would have been better to see more of her actual life at the shrine before the story moved on to the next thing

Akira being the older sister was a total shock, and the way the show used such soft music during her introduction was way better than being loud and annoying.

Sora clinging to her phone as her only way to talk to Haru is actually pretty sad and the way she stays hidden in the house makes her feel so isolated

Kazuha forgetting her swimsuit felt like such a classic setup for a romance show and it was funny watching the girls try to block each other from getting closer to Haru

The reveal that Akira is actually Kazuha's older sister caught me off guard since they seem so different and I want to know why she lives at the shrine alone

The weird quiet music they played while Akira was doing her thing at the shrine was so cool because it made her feel way more mysterious than a normal comedy character

Sora staring through that door crack at Haru is so unsettling and it really shows how much she hates being left behind in that house

That accidental boob press during the school scene felt so out of place compared to how sad Sora looked earlier today

Ryouhei is such a disaster as a wingman, and I think his attempts to help Haru with the girls just made everything way more awkward than it needed to be

Haru barely arrived in town and he already has every girl in class looking at him while his sister is rotting at home with only her phone for company

Akira acting all shy at the shrine was actually pretty cute but you can tell something weird is going on since she lives there all by herself and wont talk about it

I hate how Sora looks through the door cracks while Haru leaves because she looks so lonely and it makes me feel terrible for her while he goes off to school

The show is really leaning into those awkward fanservice moments, especially with that weird boob press scene that came out of nowhere

Akira seems like she has a lot of secrets and living alone at the shrine must be so heavy for someone who smiles that much

I was not prepared for how weird things got when Haru was eavesdropping on Akira and Kazuha, because that conversation sounded way more intimate than two friends just hanging out. It really makes me curious about what they hide from everyone else in town and if Akira actually likes living all by herself at that big shrine or if she is miserable

The sudden underwear shots felt so out of place during the actual story and it kind of ruined the mood of the shrine scene

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off 'Distant Memories,' which reintroduced the world and cast, this episode shifts focus toward developing individual character threads — particularly around Akira — before the season begins complicating those bonds. It functions as foundational connective tissue, building the relational groundwork that 'A Careful Distance' will start to pressure-test.
