This episode felt like a classic start. The old-style vibe and armor scenes were cool. The setup introduces the conflict clearly, and the characters feel serious from the beginning.

A great first episode for a sequel especially for fans who watched the original but the pacing might be a blitz to people who are new to this series.

Ok this is awesome, the tone definitely feels different than the OG, but that is to be expected. A previously Masho going to be the new wildfire armor wearer? That is a nice twist. And we have 10 Masho now, interesting. Not bad honestly

Episode Context

As the opening chapter of 12, this episode carries the full weight of re-establishing the world and its stakes with no prior setup to lean on. It introduces the fractured state of modern defense against the demon realm and positions Musashi and Ryuusei as central figures in a conflict humanity is dangerously unready for. Episode 2, "Armor," picks up directly from the fallout here, pushing toward the unlocking of genuine armored power as captured threats force the surviving forces to respond.
