Yebushou

In the year 2283, what's left of humanity is crammed into fortress cities surrounded by nuclear wasteland. Han Che lives in Fortress City 021, which is run by the Ark Corporation — a megacorp whose "Savior Guardians" are supposed to protect people but are actually running human experiments with implanted X chips and controlling public opinion. When Han Che watches his brother get killed by these so-called protectors, something inside him snaps — literally. He awakens the "1307 Source System," a power source nobody fully understands, and suddenly he's got abilities that put him on the Ark Corporation's radar. He falls in with the Yebushou, a resistance group rebuilt by a guy named Guan Shanhu, and starts working alongside a hacker named Tian Xin to tear down the corporation from the inside. The tone is dark and grimy from the jump — corporate conspiracy, human experimentation, a city built on lies. It's an original story from Original Force, not adapted from anything, so you're going in blind with everyone else. If you liked the dystopian surveillance state vibes of Psycho-Pass or the post-apocalyptic corporate horror of Akira, this scratches a similar itch. There are also shades of Ergo Proxy in how it layers mystery into its worldbuilding. The power system around the 1307 Source System and X chips feels like it has room to get genuinely complex, and the soundtrack leans hard into that bleak atmosphere. Worth keeping on your list if cyberpunk dystopia is your thing.
