Chainsmoker Cat Episode 1: I'm Chainsmoker Cat, Meow

Mixed feelings about this ep. It feels like a fever dream LOL. The visuals are top-notch: in fact, the gross-out gags are too much for me precisely because they're animated TOO well 😭 The realistic depiction of addiction is quite uncomfortable too, although that's prolly the entire point of this anime ig.

the overall mechanical animation throughout this premiere is surprisingly well made and completely exceeds initial expectations. furthermore utilizing a highly deadpan comedic tone to mask the underlying structural irony is a very effective narrative choice that successfully grounds the heavier themes of the overarching production.

One of best anime I ever watched. The best is that it is realistic it isn't that colorfull like rest of them.

watching this ep made me so worried that this is exactly how my own sister views me. this hit way too close to home it kinda bothers me in a way. just so weirdly emotional somehow, hoping things get a little bit better for her... and everyone with depression in general

Honestly, I wasn't even planning to watch this anime because it didn't appeal to me at all. But all the controversy piqued my curiosity, and I can confirm: it really is pretty uncomfortable and gross to watch, yet strangely entertaining. At least they had the decency to censor the vomit with rainbows, haha. That said, the opening theme is amazing—I loved it.

This first episode was really curious. Everyone is complaining about how gross this anime is… I can confirm, but I’m really wondering what it’s trying to say. I think it’s all about addiction and how it destroys your life to the point of controlling everything in it. I hate how Yanineko smokes in every scene of the anime; there’s not a single one where she doesn’t smoke. It’s really sad.

I wonder if the anime is going to progress at all or if it’s going to be as episodic as this first episode. It was fine overall; I liked the comedy, and the animation is pretty good. It was a good introduction, but I’m wondering what’s going to happen next, and I feel that’s going to change my opinion of this anime depending on what happens.

Seeing her completely spiraling ab how messy her dirty room when she was just thinking of cleaning it. FELT THAT so hard bro. crazy how real that whole scene was because my room looks exactly the same right now just without the tar so not the same but you got  the point. this just gave me a massive reality check 

Very huge brain fuck overall. The visuals are extreme, the message is very depressing even. But the effectiveness of it being an Anti-smoking show is great.

Really hope the story leads somewhere and doesnt just revolve around the same area. I have high hopes

I do appreciate the animation and it has a good message the anime in overall but I understand why some people are dropping it already.
