Episode Context

As the series opener, this episode carries the full weight of world-building and character introduction, there's nothing before it, so it sets the baseline for Yani's personality, habits, and living situation. Everything here is foundational: her vices, her relationships with neighbors and her landlord, and the loose tensions around personal responsibility that will likely drive her arc forward. Subsequent episodes will build on these dynamics, so first impressions of Yani here shape how her eventual growth, or stubborn resistance to it, will land later in the season.
