UP: Sakura and Mariabelle's unexpected friendship is actually WHOLESOME. The otaku bonding is adorable and adds depth. DOWN: Mariabelle's threatening moments are played for laughs but feel genuinely uncomfortable. Tone inconsistency is real. 📚

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 2's academy integration, this third episode continues Mariabelle's adjustment arc by expanding her exposure to human life beyond school walls. At the quarter mark of a 12-episode season, it's still in relationship-building mode, establishing the comedic foundation before the arrival of new otherworldly characters teased in Episode 4, 'Visitors from Another World,' which looks set to shift the dynamic considerably.
