Episode Context

Coming off the escape from the world of darkness in episode 19, Yaiba and his companions are now pursuing the final legendary orb, making this one of the last major objectives before the climax. As episode 20 of 24, it functions as a critical penultimate quest chapter, with the deception-heavy premise adding a layer of complexity right when the stakes are highest. The events here directly set the stage for what unfolds atop Mt. Fuji in episode 21, positioning this as the calm-before-the-storm turning point of the season's endgame.
