Synopsis
Meet Yan Sen, a cultivation master — think flying swords, spiritual energy, ancient martial techniques — who gets yanked out of his world and dropped into what's basically a modern superhero society. People here have superpowers, they call themselves heroes, and they spend their time fighting monsters. Yan Sen has no idea what any of that means. He just knows sword techniques and Daoist arts, which naturally makes every hero in the area assume he's some kind of new threat. The first couple of episodes are this great mix of Yan Sen trying to figure out how anything works while accidentally terrifying people with cultivation moves that don't fit any known superpower category. It's a 40-episode ONA from Ruo Hong Culture, adapted from a web manga, and the core appeal is watching two completely different power systems collide. Cultivation logic versus superhero logic, ancient world mindset versus modern society — the culture clash drives both the action and the comedy. The fights are solid, with traditional cultivation techniques going up against flashy superpowers in ways that actually feel distinct from each other. If you're into shows like Soul Land or The King's Avatar where someone with a different skill set enters a new arena and throws everyone off balance, this scratches that itch. It also has some of that Fog Hill of Five Elements energy in terms of blending Chinese fantasy aesthetics with more contemporary action. Comes out in 2026, worth keeping on your radar.
