There is a trail and it keeps leading back Dr. Sasaki. What is her involvement with the mutants in that area experiencing Damon-Hall syndrome at a higher rate than normal? It would seem all the plots are converging into one, so answering one mystery is enough for them all. Seems a little easy, it's somewhat understandable since they need to cram as much as possible into each episode, but if they knew this beforehand they could have made a few more episodes so they wouldn't be in a rush. Great visuals, beautiful scenery, and the maze like mega structure beneath the cabin was well thought out and executed perfectly by the artists and animators.
