EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off Episode 3's prophecy of impending danger to Nico, Episode 4 responds by expanding her circle of protectors, adding Kanshi as a second familiar with his own complicated baggage. This is early-season worldbuilding—establishing the core household dynamic and interspecies tensions that will fuel both comedy and conflict across the remaining twenty-one episodes. The rivalry between Kanshi and Morihito planted here is clearly designed to be a recurring engine for the series going forward.
