Robin’s introduction had a moody occult noir feel, and I liked the atmosphere right away. The episode had good pacing and did a nice job setting the tone without overexplaining things. I’d recommend it if you’re into darker supernatural anime with a strong atmosphere.

Robin mulai bergabung dengan STN-J dan langsung mendapat tugas pertamanya. Pengenalan dunia pemburu Witch serta kemampuan Robin membuat awal cerita terasa menarik.

It does leave a good impression in the first episode. But the pacing was a little slow. There’s a talking stage in the middle that could make you sleepy. But overall, it’s an important episode to watch to understand the plot

Episode Context

As episode 1 of 26, 'Replacement' is purely foundational, it introduces the STN-J team, establishes Robin's role as the new operative, and defines the tonal DNA that will carry through the entire series. The early episodes that follow build on these character introductions with case-of-the-week structures while slowly deepening the mythology and interpersonal tensions seeded here. Robin and Amon's dynamic, barely sketched in this premiere, becomes one of the show's central threads as the narrative progresses toward its darker second half.
