I absolutely loved this anime, it’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. Despite the surrealist and quirky style, this anime is mostly realistic when it comes to the various psychological issues it covers. It gives us a look into the problems faced by many in Japanese society (even years after its release). I do find it noticeable that Dr Irabu didn’t treat any female patients. Mayumi’s main purpose as the “hot nurse” further emphasizes the treatment that woman often face in the healthcare industry. Something to think about.
