QUICK TAKES
The episode handles two really cool ideas. The "One-Year Distance" part is all about the Misfit Class realizing that their first year at the demon school is coming to an end. It makes you feel proud of how far they’ve all come as a group. But the absolute best part of the episode is the "One-Centimeter Distance" side, which focuses entirely on Ameri and Iruma.
Ameri has a massive crush on Iruma, and watching her try to act like a tough, serious Student Council President while secretly screaming inside because she's sitting next to him is hilarious and adorable. The episode does a great job showing their awkward, slow-burn romance. They are both so innocent and genuine that you can't help but root for them. It’s full of blushing, cute misunderstandings, and small, cozy moments that feel incredibly rewarding.
The animation is bright and captures every single funny facial expression and embarrassed blush perfectly. There aren’t any big fights or magic duels here, but it doesn't need them at all.
Overall, Episode 12 is just pure comfort food. It hits the perfect balance between romantic comedy and slice-of-life charm. It gives fans exactly what they wanted to see before the school year wraps up and the next big challenges begin.
loved it
Kyaaaa!!! Finally, my ship is sailing! Yes, yes!! I feel like I'm acting crazy here, smiling from ear to ear while watching it because it is just so incredibly exciting and sweet. Additionally, the inclusion of a cute chibi tone during the scenes and at the very ending was an excellent touch to further elevate the excitement. It was a very riveting episode, a perfect 10/10.
Ooh, such a lovely episode! The animation was so clean and beautiful that I almost forgot to breathe for a second, lol. But seriously, the whole vibe of this episode was just too gorgeous. It really got me captivated!
This was so cute and pure! 🥹 I actually loved this episode. It wasn't purely humorous; it leaned more toward the cheesy, heartwarming side, which really made me gush over the characters, lol. It was a great episode!
The animation looked SO good! They really worked hard on this episode. I loved this one so much. Amari and Iruma's chemistry was through the roof 😆 The characters were serving so hard!
so pretty, so glamorous, so colorful, so high class, so cute. These are the things this episode speaks. The way they did the close up shot of ameri like in the manga, it gets the emotion of it. PROPS TO THE TEAM!!! I love this episode so much. MY SHIP IS SAILING SMOOTHLY! Definitely should watch the episode if you want to see Iruma and Ameri moments hihi
OMG FAN SERVICE! My dear Ameri has majority of the screen time in the episode so feast your eyes people. I've been waiting for this episode since I saw this part in the manga somewhere before and I can really tell you that the wait is totally worth it!
Ameri was really pretty, devi pretty! I feel a little bit giddy watching Ameri and her reactions. Kinda get what she feels hehe. Also, I think this is the progress that I've been waiting for and the last part really left me speechless. And the animation was really good! It was so dreamy and the effects were so good.
EPISODE CONTEXT
Picking up directly after Episode 11's encounter with the genie Toto, this episode pivots away from external conflict and places Iruma's personal growth front and center. Sitting at the midpoint of Season 4's 24-episode run, it functions as an emotional anchor, deepening Iruma's characterization before the season accelerates into its next phase of challenges. What gets established here about Iruma's resilience and self-awareness will carry weight in the episodes ahead.
