EPISODE REVIEWS

This episode is soft and meaningful. We met the main characters during their daily school routines and their struggles. It uses small moments to make us feel close to the characters. It sets up a great intro for a series.

Good episode, not my style of anime so all my takes will be unfortunately biased. The animation style is lovely and for the character writing is okay. Given that they are basically elementary schoolers, the characters are going to be inherently immature

“My pink opaque” sets the tone of the whole series as a direct metaphor; the pink represents gender expectations of childhood, while opaque highlights the cloudiness of how difficult it is for kids to see their own futures. It shows us that gender identity is a deep personal reality of growing up.
