Synopsis
Yusaku is a medical student returning to his rural hometown for the first time in eight years, heading back to help out at his uncle's clinic over the summer. On the train ride there, he notices a woman sitting across from him and completely freezes — classic. When he finally arrives, he gets reacquainted with childhood friends and starts meeting the people around the clinic: nurses, patients, mysterious locals. The town is quiet, slow-paced, and nostalgic in that way small places always feel when you've been gone a long time. This 2-episode OVA from Arms, based on a visual novel, leans into that blend of returning-home melancholy and the awkward excitement of meeting new people as an adult. Yusaku isn't a particularly bold guy, and that actually makes his character feel grounded. The rural clinic setting gives it a specific, unhurried atmosphere that separates it from more urban hentai titles. If you liked the character-focused relationship building in Square of the Moon or the intimate, story-driven pacing of One: True Stories, this sits comfortably in that same space. Fans of Kawarazaki-ke no Ichizoku 2 who appreciate when a hentai OVA bothers to establish its characters before anything else will find something familiar here. It's short, it has a clear setup, and it doesn't rush past the human moments to get where it's going.
