Synopsis

Meet Yoo Hobin: a broke, bullied high schooler who spends his days getting humiliated on camera by classmates who fancy themselves the next big internet celebrities. He takes it because he needs money for his hospitalized mother, and fighting back would just make things worse. Then one day he accidentally spills ramen on the wrong guy, a fistfight breaks out on a live stream, and the whole thing goes viral overnight. Suddenly Hobin realizes that the same internet clout his bullies use against him could actually be his way out. This 12-episode TV series from Studio Okuruto Noboru adapts a popular web manga, and it does a surprisingly good job balancing its fight scenes with genuine emotional weight. Hobin's not some secret prodigy. he's a scrappy kid figuring things out in real time, which makes every win feel earned and every loss sting. The social media angle isn't just window dressing either; it actually drives the plot and adds a layer of commentary about what people will do for views. The fights are grounded and brutal rather than flashy, closer to street brawls than shonen power-ups. If you liked the underdog energy of BUCCHIGIRI or the raw scrappiness of Kenka Bancho Otome: Girl Beats Boys, this hits a similar nerve but with a modern, internet-age twist. If Kenka Shōbai's fighting spirit appeals to you, Viral Hit channels that same energy through a younger, more desperate lens. It's dark, it's funny in uncomfortable ways, and Hobin's arc from doormat to someone who fights back is genuinely satisfying to watch unfold.

Starting off, the OP is a banger! I just love the hand and movement coordination throughout the entire MV. This is such a catchy OP that makes it hard for me to skip. That said, the story is really, really good. I just love the character development throughout this series. I also like how good the pacing is. Every episode is packed with progression. Though, if I were to nitpick something, I don't really like how forced the development between Hobin and Bomi feels. Like, come on! How many times did Bomi even appear in this series? They don't even talk that much (except through texts), yet their relationship is already this close? That's just way too off for me. That said, aside from this one issue, everything was done amazingly. Craftsmanship-wise, the animation is honestly just mediocre. Most of the scenes are rough, but the visuals are just so freaking funny. What are these facial expressions, man? Simply peak. Overall, I'd rate this series a 9/10. It's probably one of the low-key ones out there.

Dude, why is this so funny? The freaking expressions were just so peak, man! You can't do Hobin dirty like that. On another note, to be honest, I was expecting more from this episode. I think that the earlier scenes wrapped up way too easily. Though, it's not a big issue for me. On another note, the glazing here is too tuff. I understand that this is a Korean series, but isn't the glazing too much, LOL! That said, I agree that Taekwondo is a pretty good martial art.

The first few scenes with Hobin and Jihyeok were honestly so funny. Their interactions were easily one of my favorite parts of the episode. I wasn't a big fan of him at first because of how he treated Hobin earlier in the series, but this episode really made me kinda like his character a little more. The second half was so different since it became much more emotional and kept me so invested in most of Hobin's scene's. It was honestly pretty sad, but kind of cool.
