This is a dark anime. It has a lot of killing involved but it also discusses justice in a sense. There is not much revealed in the first episode but it does a good job of making people interested in how the story will progress.

People said this anime is dark. Yes, but not really dark, still bearable to watch. It is not gory as like it was in manga

Episode Context

As the first of twelve episodes, 'Durch Bruch' functions entirely as foundation-laying, introducing Köinzell's quest for vengeance and the corrupt world he must carve through. No prior context exists, this is ground zero for the series' central conflict and its key locations. The next episode, 'Unter Morgen Monde,' pushes deeper into the monastery and begins peeling back the layers of dark secrets only hinted at here.
