Episode Context

Sitting at episode 33 of 50, this installment marks a critical narrative pivot point, the series transitions from the introspective character work of Episode 32, where Rokuro and Benio examined their pasts and futures, into a villain-driven escalation phase. Kuranashi's mobilization of the Basara against the Twelve Guardians sets the dominoes falling for the confrontations that will define the back third of the series. This is the episode where the show stops asking who its heroes are and starts showing what they'll be up against.
