I was not expecting this amount of emotion in the first episode. The wholesomeness of the show juxtaposed with the tragic backstory is a nice touch, and keeping us in the dark to reveal later on how conscious Asumi is as a child really tugged at my heartstrings
I went into this completely blind, without doing any research on the plot or genre, and it started off surprisingly heavy and tragic. I feel like anyone watching this episode would be left feeling the exact same way. Asumi's innocence at such a young age is incredibly cute, but it makes everything that happens so much more heartbreaking.
The episode had a really emotional start, and I liked how it introduced the characters and their connection to space. It made me curious about where the story is going next.
