I really like the writing for Patrick here, he feels like a deeper character than he first appears. The merchant exam part here is really funny, it shows how much advanced our "modern" civilization is compared to theirs.

Episode Context

Sitting at the exact halfway mark of a 12-episode season, Episode 6 transitions Makoto's journey from survival and companion-building into the economic and political dimensions of his isekai life, following the Greedy Wagon developments of Episode 5. The introduction of merchant society dynamics and Patrick Rembrandt signals a significant expansion of the show's scope beyond combat encounters. This episode serves as a foundational pivot, everything established here around Makoto's commercial ambitions will clearly drive the second half of the season.
