I really like the character writing in this one. Watching Makoto name his companions was very heartwarming. Then the shift onto the human city was a fun new layer of tension, it was very funny to see the group encountering the problems here. I am starting to appreciate the world here, it has a very interesting "culture".

Episode Context

Following Episode 2's pivotal contract with the Black Spider of Disaster, Episode 3 consolidates Makoto's core party by renaming his companions Tomoe and Mio and introducing the Elder Dwarf Beren, shifting focus from power acquisition to relationship-building. As the third episode in a 12-episode season, it marks the transition from setup to the first real engagement with human civilization, laying essential groundwork for the social and political complications Makoto will face in the episodes ahead.
