True Blue: Gaiden
Oshimeter
Synopsis
What was real between Akito and Aoi is now over. Aoi has moved on to their P.E. teacher, and Akito is left trying to piece himself back together. Enter Kaya, a girl who genuinely cares about him and wants to fill that void. The problem is, the more she tries to get closer to Akito, the more she gets pulled into a situation that spirals completely out of her control. Someone has been watching her, and they're not above using what they know to get what they want. True Blue: Gaiden is a single-episode OVA adapted from a visual novel, and it leans fully into adult territory. This is not a romance with some spicy moments tucked in — it is explicit, and the story is built around that. The emotional throughline follows Kaya navigating genuinely messy, uncomfortable circumstances, which gives it a bit more texture than the average entry in the genre. If you have watched something like School Days and appreciated how it commits to its darker character dynamics without flinching, or if you are already familiar with adult visual novel adaptations and know what you are getting into, this scratches a similar itch. It is short, it is bleak in places, and it does not wrap things up neatly. Worth knowing what you are signing up for before you start.
