Episode Context

Episode 3 marks the beginning of the 'Star of Sorrow' two-parter, pivoting from the 'Witch Hunt' storyline where Abel and Tres investigated vampire murders. It introduces Sister Esther Blanchett and the city of István as critical new elements, expanding the show's scope beyond individual cases into broader political conflict. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into episode 4, 'The Star of Sorrow II. Hunter's Banquet,' where these escalating tensions come to a head.
