Right out of the gate, this anime kicks off with fantastic wild west vibes~ I love the divide between Vash’s reputation and what he’s REALLY like 😭 The old-school animation, delightfully 90s character designs, and silly character expressions are peak. Great start!

It’s just the first episode and it’s already this chaotic? Hahaha! It’s funny how they mistakenly portray Vash as a ruthless and violent man with a scary appearance, when in reality all they have are rumors and the bounty on his head.

the premiere nailed the wild west vibe. dusty towns, saloon shootouts, and a goofy gunslinger who refuses to kill. the animation on the action scenes was smooth, and the comedy landed without killing the tension. the mystery of who this guy really is hooked me immediately. 🔥

A chaotic start to the episode. We're introduced to the infamous Humanoid Typhoon, one who wreaks havoc across cities in the desert. But the contrast between the rumor and the person being referred is just too comically funny! There's a great balance struck between the funny parts and even the scuffle that occurs between bandits aiming for that high bounty. Looking forward to the next ones!

Straight away this ep throws you into pure chaos. Everyone’s scared of Vash, but the guy acts like a total clown instead Hahahaha. Super fun intro because you really don’t know if he’s dumb, lucky, or actually built different.

Love the music from opening, bgm to endings of the songs. Quite chaotic and I was not prepared that they just toss and introduced 3 - 5 characters in 1 scene and each of them has their own purpose and role. Pretty enjoyable episode with the comedy and action.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the series premiere of a 26-episode run, this episode prioritizes world-building and character introductions over deep lore, establishing the desert planet setting, the central mystery of Vash the Stampede's true nature, and the comedic dynamic between Meryl, Milly, and Vash. The lighthearted tone here is deliberate groundwork — early episodes build the comedic foundation that makes Trigun's gradual shift into darker, more emotionally complex territory hit significantly harder as the season progresses. Everything introduced here — Vash's reputation, his contradictory personality, and the world that fears him — becomes the backbone of the entire series.
