This episode shows the reality of practice, perfectly. Igarashi forcing Tonbo to focus on boring consistency rather than her usual shots is a great shift. And this episode have good pacing.
The clash of playstyles continues. Tonbo is forced to face an actual experienced player. I never realized how heavily psychological golf is until this episode. The stakes feel incredibly real, even for a casual island match.
I gotta be honest, I didn’t get a single thing when Tsubara, Tonbo and Igaiga played golf and explained all the new tactics they were using at the first half of the episode, but hey it was fun HAHA. And the story looks like it’s starting to pick up and get interesting as we see Tonbo and if she’s going to take her golf seriously. Pretty neat!
