Synopsis

There's nothing Yuuichi Katagiri wouldn't do for his friends, but that loyalty becomes a real problem when someone in his friend group apparently sold them all out. After their class trip money gets stolen, Yuuichi and his four closest friends are kidnapped and wake up in a sterile white room, greeted by a creepy mascot character called Manabu-kun. The deal: one of the five has racked up a massive debt, and the only way out is to play a series of psychological games where the currency is trust. Every round is designed to make them turn on each other, exposing lies, secrets, and motivations nobody wanted out in the open. The thing that makes this 12-episode TV series click is Yuuichi himself. He's not the typical shounen protagonist — there's something unsettling underneath his nice-guy surface, and watching him navigate these games is genuinely tense. You're never quite sure who's manipulating who. The games themselves are clever, built on simple rules that spiral into layered mind games about friendship and betrayal. If you liked the survival tension of Darwin's Game or the vote-based dread of Your Turn to Die, this hits a similar nerve but leans harder into the "can you really trust your best friend" angle. It's not reinventing the death game genre, but it's sharp, well-paced, and Yuuichi alone makes it worth the ride.

this episode really proved that Yuuichi was indeed a psychopath in his past and now he's awakened again. also a very huge manipulator. im so mad that this was only a 12 episodes season. i can't be left this waaay. i need more. he's only starting to show his true colour and this has me expecting a little bit too much of him as well. this season was full of great plots. i really hope that this anime will show his true self in his full potential next.
never in my mind watching Yuuichi in the first few episodes would ever think that he would do something like that in a game. but he was still being considerate enough even though the trick he used was dirty. and again, this anime has taken another dark turn. honestly, there's no telling if Shiho was really behind this like Tenji said or someone else was the mastermind of all the dark things that happened since this anime had given so many unexpected plots. can't wait for more
oh i didn't know we had another psychopath in this game. im loving this. i really wanted to see someone who could top of Yuuichi in his game. or at least, barely. this kind of plot was something i wished for after seeing Tenji soften up for him. im sure Yuuichi was up to something, knowing how daring he could be in carrying his plans. and i really wished they could keep raking his brain up so i could keep watching his character develop more
