This episode does well to explore Izana as a character and his motivations against Toman. The heartbreaking moment, you can start to understand what had led to Mikey’s spiral and how Izana used that to get what he wants. Seeing Takemichi motivate Toman while they are down shows how much he is impacting the gang, hopefully for good.
Takemichi remains in a difficult position, trying to process new information while still pushing forward despite uncertainty. His determination continues to be a central emotional anchor for the audience.
Tension keeps building. This time someone actually dies and it hits hard because it happened so fast. By the end you can see a broken fight coming for the next episode. Sad and shocking from the start, then the tension explodes in the final minute.
