EPISODE REVIEWS

FIRE beginning to season 2. For me, the entirety of season 1 felt like some sort of setup for the huge conflict on the last few episodes, but it felt a little underwhelming. Everything feels like it will be set loose in this season!

Episode Context

As the first episode of 12, this premiere picks up in the aftermath of the Tsukiyama Family Extermination Operation, with the CCG riding a wave of momentum and Haise Sasaki further distanced from his buried past as Kaneki. It establishes the season's central tensions, identity, institutional power, and fractured allegiances within the Quinx Squad, that will drive the remaining episodes toward their climax. Everything here is foundation-laying, positioning characters and conflicts for the accelerated pacing this condensed season demands.
