I like how we get thrown into the episode without the series having to verbally give us all the context from the start, I feel like the story could go somewhere interesting depending on how they portray historical figures. The animation is pretty standard but the style is probably the most generic for this time period, it's completely uninspired and void of any identity.
The premiere does a nice job introducing its curious premise without rushing into the bigger things. Mari is an easy protagonist to root for, and the educational angle blends pretty okay with the adventure. Pacing is a little uneven for my liking, but the episode does leave enough intrigue for the series going forward.
Since I love time travel stories, I think this is a typical time travel story. I love the mysteries, though, especially the connections between the people surrounding the time-traveling girl. Will there be any effects on the timeline? Maybe we'll find out in the next episodes.
