An emotional episode, full of reflections on the past, present, and future. The Meiji era has begun, and therefore the clashes between the Shinsengumi and the anti-shogun forces continue, though the Shinsengumi is increasingly weakened. We see Izumi drifting through life, gazing at the sea with no further aspirations, and Okita suffering from an illness. It's slow-paced, canon within the story, and quite moving to watch.
