I never expected to shed a tear after learning about Miko's backstory. 🥲 As unhinged as it may sound, Shiori and Miko can share Hinako, right? LOL. I'm so sorry. OTL 😭 but their confrontation is just as intense as their conflicted feelings.

The confrontation between Miko and Shiori has some nice supernatural visuals. The emotion is packed into Miko's connection with Hinako. The episode also gives Miko's character a completely different meaning in hindsight.

Episode Context

Positioned just before the season's halfway mark, 'The Beast of Affection' builds directly on the revelations from episode 4's 'An Ephemeral Tie,' where Miko's true nature started breaking through the surface. This episode provides the critical backstory and emotional groundwork needed to understand the shifting power dynamics among the three leads. It functions as a pivot point, everything established here about trust and hidden motivations will fuel the conflicts and escalations across the back half of the thirteen-episode run.
