Lovin' the art style. The OP and ED song fits the series' vibe. They started already with a heavy atmosphere that you could almost feel it on screen. Hinako's detached personality and Miko's bubbly attitude is a nice dynamic. Shiori is an interesting character. Overall, a good start for the first episode.

The seaside setting gives this anime a really distinct atmosphere. Hinako's detached attitude is pretty heavy. The scenery is beautiful

Episode Context

As the first of thirteen episodes, this premiere is purely foundational, it introduces the central trio of Hinako, Shiori, and Miko while establishing the show's core themes of grief, supernatural mystery, and complicated emotional bonds. No prior context is needed; everything starts here. The groundwork laid in this episode feeds directly into episode two, 'Sunset Beast and Festival,' where the character dynamics begin shifting and the supernatural elements escalate beyond atmosphere into something more tangible.
