📖 SYNOPSIS

"Thermae Romae" follows Lucius, a skilled bath architect in ancient Rome, who struggles to find inspiration for his new projects. Through a mysterious phenomenon, he's transported to modern-day Japan, where he is astonished by the advanced bathing practices and technologies. He observes the Japanese onsen, public baths, and everyday bathing rituals, which spark his creativity. Each time he returns to Rome, he incorporates these newfound ideas into his designs, creating increasingly elaborate and luxurious bathhouses. The series explores the cultural differences and similarities between ancient Rome and modern Japan, highlighting the universal human appreciation for relaxation and cleanliness.
