Loving the fantasy elements the story is slowly introducing! While I do think showing all the supernatural beings earlier was abrupt, it's great that the story unfolds while showing each of them individually. The threat of the "FIend"s grow each episode! It feels much more structured in this sense.
The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King
Oshimeter
Synopsis
The strongest female knight in the Western Kingdom of Illdoren, Serafina de Lavillant, has just been captured by the very barbarians she was sent to subjugate. She's fully prepared for the worst — torture, humiliation, maybe execution. Instead, Veor, the heir to the barbarian tribe, offers her a marriage proposal. That's the setup for this 2026 TV series from Jumondou, and it only gets more entertaining from there. The comedy comes from Serafina's expectations constantly getting shattered. Everything she was taught about these "savages" turns out to be wrong, and watching her slowly reconcile her prejudices with reality gives the show a surprisingly warm core underneath all the bickering and culture clash humor. Serafina herself is a genuinely strong protagonist — not just physically, but in how stubbornly she clings to her worldview even as it crumbles around her. The dynamic between her and Veor has that slow-burn romantic tension where neither side wants to give ground. If you enjoyed the political marriage dynamics and cultural exchange in Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, or the way Spice and Wolf builds romance through two sharp-witted people gradually respecting each other, this hits a similar frequency. There are also shades of Yona of the Dawn in how a sheltered noblewoman gets thrown into a world that challenges everything she believed. Based on the manga, so the source material is already out there if you want to read ahead.

Quick Takes
View all 77 takesMalcius is pretty unlikeable for a majority of this episode. I wish they'd focus more on her devotion or conditioning within the West, or at least some sort of mention of her experience as a priest/someone in power despite her lost memory.
There's a surprising amount of... nudity in this series?? The first scene lowkey jump-scared me because it was somehow allowed on Crunchyroll.
