While anime was going at a sudden pace till the earlier episode, this one shows us a different thing. In another way, we can say that the narrative development is good here. The relationship tension between Kotoura and Manabe is portrayed well by the director.

The tonal shift in this episode is incredibly gripping, bringing an unexpected mystery element that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It handles darker themes with remarkable tension while still grounding the narrative in the characters' deep emotional vulnerabilities.
