The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom
Oshimeter
Synopsis
With an iron hand — and, apparently, a very busy household — General Baribara rules the Kingdom of Marronnier, raising seven sons, each one wildly different from the last. One's a schemer, one's probably too earnest for his own good, and the rest fall somewhere across a broad spectrum of personality types that somehow all share the exact same dream: to heroically rescue a princess someday. It's a charmingly old-fashioned ambition for seven guys living under a formidable military mom. When the brothers are dispatched as ambassadors to seven different neighboring kingdoms, the story really opens up — each one heading into unfamiliar territory with his own strengths, quirks, and varying degrees of diplomatic competence. The historical fantasy setting gives it texture, and the comedy comes from character rather than cheap gags, which makes a real difference. J.C.Staff is handling production, adapting what started as a josei manga, so expect a cast with genuine personality rather than cardboard archetypes. If you liked the ensemble character work in Akatsuki no Yona or the world-building scope of The Twelve Kingdoms, this is threading a similar needle — multiple protagonists, multiple cultures, one central family holding the threads together. It's lighter in tone than either of those, but the premise has enough moving parts to stay interesting. Worth keeping an eye on when it drops in 2026.
