Episode Context

As episode 178 of 178, 'Goodbye, Prince' is the definitive series finale, directly following the events of 'Unforgettable Promise' where Ryoma's return to Japan set the stage for one last pivotal match. This episode wraps the character arcs developed across the entire run while serving as a narrative bridge to the sequel series 'Tennis no Oujisama: Zenkoku Taikai-hen,' which picks up with the National Tournament. It's the closing chapter of the original story, but not the end of the franchise.
