This episode splits our characters up as stakes are high in matches that will decide fate's. The pacing here is a bit slower but great action and animation throughout the episode.

The pacing is solid, the character moments land well, and the ending leaves you wanting to watch the next episode immediately.

Ryoma faces a bunch of U-17 high school qualifiers and it gives a good assessment of his skills, which at least makes all those matches worth it. Kikumaru and Oishi face each other, which I think at least gives the Golden Pair more character development. This episode didn't really work for me, though, I really didn't feel any emotional hits from any of the characters.
