The Prodigy's Tedium
The episode opens on Cecil Grow Alfast, a ten-year-old prince, effortlessly solving complex mathematical equations. His butler, Zeno, watches in awe as Cecil invents new theorems on the spot. Yet, for Cecil, the achievement is hollow, the explanations tedious. He sighs, finding the world around him utterly boring because everything comes too easily.
A Crown Prince Meets His Match
In the palace rose garden, a restless Cecil is approached by Bertia Ifuruno Noches, his fiancée. She makes a grand, dramatic entrance, scattering rose petals and proclaiming herself the "villainess." Her role, she declares, is to separate Cecil and the future heroine, ensuring her own humiliation. Cecil and his staff are visibly bewildered by her strange declaration, but he quickly invites her to tea.
The Game's Scenario Unveiled
Over tea, Bertia eagerly explains her past life in Japan and how she recognizes this world as an otome game. She reveals her designated role: to be a "first-rate evil flower," destined for humiliation so Cecil and the true heroine can find happiness. She details the game's progression with absolute certainty. Cecil listens, an unusual glint in his eye.
A Righteous Evil Flower's Vow
Cecil, processing Bertia's fantastical claims, states it doesn't matter if she's delusional, only if her chosen path suits a queen. He probes her idea of a "first-rate evil flower," which she defines as "strong, noble, and beautiful." Though Cecil finds the "stepping stone" role sad, Bertia vehemently insists she is "herself," not the game character, and will pursue her righteous villainy.
The Promise of the Unpredictable
With a dramatic flourish, Bertia makes her exit, leaving a confused Cecil behind. He confides in Zeno that her incomprehensible nature makes her "interesting," a stark contrast to his past "colorless" world. Cecil declares he will observe her for a while. He finds her unpredictability a welcome challenge, something novel and engaging.
The Prince's Long Game
One year later, Cecil is in his dimly lit library, reading intently. Zeno approaches, expressing concern that Bertia has been secluded at home for an entire year. Cecil assures him she is "perfectly fine," looking quite pleased with himself. He anticipates her imminent appearance with a knowing smile, hinting at a plan already in motion.
Bertia's Grand Return and the Sweet Deception
Days later, Bertia makes a grand, theatrical entrance, dramatically transformed in a new dress, accompanied by a small black cat. Her father appears, scolding her for rudeness towards the Crown Prince, but Cecil dismisses it, calling her "cute." Over tea, Bertia apologizes for the "rescued" cat, then happily devours cake. Cecil observes her inconsistencies with amusement, noting her departure from her villainess persona.
A Shared Secret and a Terrible Realization
Cecil reveals his 11th birthday is tomorrow, and asks Bertia to keep her past life and villainess talk a secret. He explains a "flawed villainess" is low-class; she misinterprets this as needing to be a "secret villainess." Her joy turns to horror as she realizes his age means her mother's death, as per the game, is imminent. Tears well in her eyes.
A Mother's Dire Fate Foretold
Bertia, crying in distress, desperately explains the game's scenario: her mother will die from a contagious disease. She details the scarcity of Ruona Grass, the only known cure, and her father's desperate, ultimately futile search. She recounts her mother's mournful funeral, reliving the tragedy with every word. She looks utterly defeated.
The Fiance's Promise
Cecil calmly points out that her mother's death is a year away, giving them time to change the outcome. Bertia is torn, fearing she'll ruin the game's scenario, but ultimately prioritizes her mother. Cecil offers her a handkerchief, gently reminding her of his role as her fiancé. He promises they will face problems together, stunning Bertia into relief.
The Plague Subdued
Another year passes. Bertia is frustrated, feeling Cecil has been "awful," despite her mother being well. Her mother is fine, but Bertia is confused. Cecil explains that the plague, true to her prediction, did spread. However, it is now contained, thanks to preparations he made in advance, unbeknownst to her.
The Prince's Subtle Orchestration
Cecil reveals he created the medicine based on Bertia's game knowledge. He recounts how he subtly manipulated events: researching Ruona Grass, feigning interest in the disease, and bringing a doctor into his orbit. He guided the doctor to conduct the actual "discovery" through carefully placed hints. His intent gaze indicates a mind always several steps ahead.
The Illusion of Discovery
Several months later, the doctor triumphantly declares he has found the cure for the plague. Cecil watches, satisfied, as the doctor claims it was "easy." Cecil explains that the doctor "had to realize it himself" to truly learn. He muses on his own "bad habit" of guiding others, a learning experience in itself.
A Prince's Limitless Reach
Bertia, now completely bewildered, confronts Cecil about his seemingly limitless knowledge and foresight. He calmly reminds her that as Crown Prince, he has access to vast resources and specialists. He assures his "worried fiancée" that she will grow accustomed to his capabilities. Her agitation remains, but his words offer a strange comfort.
The Ultimate Gift and a Tearful Embrace
As Bertia grapples with his foresight, Cecil presents her with a small, elegant box. Inside is a sparkling blue heart-shaped pendant, which he reveals is a universal antidote, information he found in the royal library. Overwhelmed, Bertia cries tears of relief and joy, embracing Cecil amidst falling rose petals, thanking him profusely. The once-bored prince has found purpose, and the self-proclaimed villainess has found a savior.
EPISODE REVIEWS

Not an isekai fan, but the first episode was pretty interesting. I liked seeing Princess Pride’s past cruelty, it really sets her up as a true villainess. Curious about how the reincarnator will handle this. However, I did get a bit lost this ep, pacing felt a bit rushed.

A good episode to start the series. There's no significant character development yet but the world building is well explained. The pace isn't slow and the storyline develops quite rapidly in this episode. Also, Pride and Stale interaction makes this episode more enjoyable to watch. Can't wait to see how the next episodes unfold.

A nice start and I already like this anime. A villainess and isekai combined? I'm here for it! The pace was good, not too slow and not too fast either, I also love how they hinted some of lore in the storyline too. The animation was standard, but I think it was still good for a comfort anime as this. So far so good!
