the concert announcement episode and the one where Kaoru's quietly building subplot finally comes to a head. his secret has been simmering since episode 8 and the reveal here is handled with sensitivity — it recontextualizes things about him without making him feel like he was hiding something shameful, just something personal. the rest of the episode has the energy of a show building toward a finale — everyone is practicing hard, the announcement creates real external pressure, the stakes feel tangible for the first time. it's the best DRAMATIC STARS episode since episode 3 and Kaoru specifically gets some of his best material in the whole series here. the emotional groundwork the show has been laying all season starts paying off in earnest.
