Changing the setting from the school environment to the workings of the yakuza did a fresh feel in this anime. Seeing Kumiko's other side of her life really does show another side of her that we rarely see in this anime and I think that it's a beautiful touch they did in this episode.

This part expands the story toward the mafia groups, which is a good transition. It supports the idea of Yamaguchi as a real badass and at the same time, as a promising leader. This shows another side of her as a true gangster.
