Episode Context

As Episode 1 of 26, this is pure setup, the origin point for the entire season's mythology, protagonist, and central conflict. Nothing precedes it, so the focus will be on establishing the world and the Stone Monkey's awakening as the catalyst for everything that follows. Early episodes in a 26-episode fantasy run like this typically build toward a first major turning point around episodes 4-6, so expect the groundwork laid here to pay off gradually.
