Episode Context

Hajime Kindaichi faces one of the series' more visually inventive setups as a murder unfolds inside a disorienting mirror labyrinth. The environment itself becomes a puzzle, reflections, dead ends, and spatial tricks layer onto the classic locked-room mystery formula that the show handles so well. Cousin Fumi Kindaichi takes a more prominent role here, adding a different dynamic to the investigation and injecting some lighter character energy before the tension ratchets up. Expect deliberate pacing as clues are scattered across the maze, demanding careful attention from both the characters and the viewer. This is a deduction-heavy episode that rewards patience, leaning into atmospheric suspense rather than action. If you enjoy the series at its most cerebral and claustrophobic, this installment delivers exactly that kind of challenge.
