This episode is a MASTERCLASS in dark comedy. If you're here for Cid being the most insane protagonist in anime, Episode 8 delivers. This episode is about COMMITMENT TO THE BIT. Cid does something unexpectable and u just have to watch it!

Episode Context

After Episode 7's fencing tournament planted seeds of suspicion around Cid and simmered internal rivalries, Episode 8 represents a hard narrative pivot, shifting the conflict from academy politics to an external, large-scale threat that reframes the entire season's trajectory. Sitting at the 40% mark of a 20-episode run, this is the show's first major escalation point, designed to raise the stakes before the deeper revelations and confrontations that Episode 9 and beyond will deliver. It's the bridge between the series' setup phase and its more mythology-driven second half.
