The Elven Bride
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Marrying an elf girl sounds romantic enough for one human guy — until their honeymoon immediately hits a wall — literally an anatomical one. That's the setup for Elf no Wakaokusama, a 2-episode OVA from 1995 where Kenji and his elven bride Milfa discover that human-elf biology is... not exactly compatible. What follows is a mix of comedic scrambling and earnest romantic fantasy as Kenji goes on a quest to find some kind of mystical fix while Milfa tries to carve out a place for herself in a human society that doesn't exactly roll out the welcome mat for elves. The world has that classic 90s fantasy feel — humans and elves coexist but barely tolerate each other, so this marriage is already controversial before the couple even figures out their more personal problems. It's a short watch, clearly aimed at adult audiences, and it leans into both the absurdity of the premise and some genuine warmth between the two leads. Don't go in expecting deep lore or heavy drama — this is light, playful, and a little goofy about its subject matter. If you've watched Those Who Hunt Elves and wanted something with more of a romantic focus, or if Otaku Elf's human-elf dynamic caught your attention, this scratches a similar itch with a more mature edge. It's a niche slice of 90s fantasy OVA culture — short, self-contained, and exactly what it says on the box.
