Another strong episode. The supernatural elements are interesting, but it's the emotional moments that stand out the most for me. Every episode gives a little more insight into Aoi and the burden he carries which makes him a really compelling character.
The show has a habit of messing with its own pacing, but it's at its best when it lets the silence do the talking. The awkwardness between them is so thick, but that shift from comforting warmth to sudden, cold dread is genuinely stressful.
The awkwardness between Himari and Aoi is palpable! As the story builds towards the conflict, the tense atmosphere makes the narrative feel more cohesive and draws the audience into the emotions more effectively. Although this episode is quite dark, there are always little moments of warmth from Aoi towards Himari that make my heart flutter🫠 Sincerity is certainly up for debate here. The ending was a complete surprise!
